How long is one of these books, really?
Between 29,174 and 37,849 words — call it 114 to 144 printed pages, or two hours of reading. The register lists the measured figure for every one; none of them is rounded or estimated from a target.
How long are the audiobooks?
Between two hours 54 minutes and three hours 54 minutes, 90.7 hours across the twenty-eight. These are measured off the finished masters, not calculated from word count, which is why they do not sit in the same order as the lengths.
Why do two books of the same length have different runtimes?
Because narration is not a constant. Dialogue-heavy chapters run faster than description, and a book with more white space on the page takes less time in the ear than its word count suggests. The register draws both so the gap is visible rather than argued about.
Which ones do not end happily ever after?
Four: the fifth book of each workplace. They end happy for now, on purpose, and every one of them says so on its card, on its page and in its blurb.
Do the books have ISBNs?
The ebook and the audiobook editions each carry a registered ISBN, listed in the register. The paperback does not have one yet, which is why it is not on sale.

An ISBN is a claim that an edition exists and can be ordered. These are the ones registered for this catalogue. The paperback column is empty on purpose: that edition is not finished, and inventing a number for it would be the one lie this shop cannot afford.
